richard & lucinda

we are of the age where the challenge is to speak or deny absolutes
(whatever), but or so, without question
there are no two finer deeper more destroying songs in rock
and (mark it down!) i'm vowing there never will be
than hard on me by richard thompson
who can be glad he's avoided the attention
he the fuck deserves and essence by lucinda wms
whose dear dad got up there like frost for clinton
saying later he hadn't realized how unhappy lucinda'd been
as a kid (ho ho) and him coy and shy with all those great poems he did
